Feel at Home on the Oceanfront
The Amelia Surf & Racquet Club’s 712 feet on the Atlantic Ocean is virtually in the middle of Amelia’s 13 miles of oceanfront beach. Amelia Island is the northern most barrier island on the east coast of Florida and is separated from Georgia’s southern most barrier island, Cumberland Island, by the St. Mary’s River. The historic Fort Clinch sits at the entrance to the St. Mary’s River on the northern tip of Amelia Island. Fort Clinch was built between 1864 and 1867 and is open to the public for tours. The fort is in the Fort Clinch State Park which was established on April 21, 1905 and is part of the Florida State Park System. Amelia Island has the unique distinction of being the only city in the nation to have been under the domain of eight different nations.
Amelia Island is rich in history and natural beauty and is the home of the very special and beautiful Amelia Surf & Racquet Club Resort. Enjoy an oceanfront vacation in one of our beautifully furnished suites. All suites are direct oceanfront and come with an oceanfront balcony with patio furniture, fully equipped kitchens, washer, dryer, cable television, internet and free long distance phone calls. The very large windows and sliding glass doors give you unobstructed views of the ocean, beach, dunes and dolphins swimming by and shrimp boats catching your evening meal.
